This race took us through the campus of Kansas University and just like any good student, Big D riders spent the earlier parts of this week studying the course. The preparation took us to Saturday's final exam in which two of our riders scored in the Top 15. Congrats, John Taton and Twan.

These Big D boys are somethin' else. Even though the results aren't posted yet, I know we had at least 4 finish in the top 10. That can't be said of any other team. Not only did we have riders finish strong but we had quite a showing of support from our fellow riders. Ride or watch...we know how to make a scene. GO BIG D CYCLING! KS State Category Road Race & Criterium Pittsburg, KS

Big D stepped up in a big way this past weekend with two of our riders finishing in the top ten for both the road race and crit. Big D Cycling loves to race, but we also love getting out into our community and serving others. We got a chance to do that on May 8th at the Bike Safety Rodeo for Kansas City kids. Here, we were able to help kids learn about bike safety, fix bikes, adjust helmets, etc...all ways to ensure our kids are able to ride safely. Not a bad way to help others while also getting our team name out there in the community.

Well, two races down in two weeks. You can feel this team building and getting much stronger. Once again, I can't say enough of how proud I am to be a part of Big D. I couldn't be prouder of Big D Cycling. I felt we fielded a great team on Sunday. There's many in this picture who've put in a lot of long, arduous hours in the off-season training and it certainly showed at Perry Dam. Way to go guys!

It's hard to tell that Jon Webber went down in that nasty heap of a crash with that smile on his face. We're very thankful he walked away with ONLY a bruised wrist and bike. I'm sure he's already fixed the bike and went out for a ride today.

Congratulations on Big D's first race of the season. There were some minor bruises, but in the end, a real strong showing for this team's inaugural event. Next week promises to be just as exciting. Hopefully today's results will be up soon.
